First Nations Dancers Series - first look

As many folks of european descent I have been fascinated by American First Nations spirituality and art, even moreso when I came to live on the coast of British Columbia and saw for myself the incredible carvings both ancient and modern created by the many coastal tribes. The logo for my Peacefools Galleries shows one of my RL carvings greatly influenced by the forms and lines of the rainforest artists.

In this tableau, just installed at Oyster Bay. I present 3 dancers in somewhat fanciful masks and hand adornments representing the sky - Eagle Dancer, the earth - Bear Dancer and the sea - Orca Dancer. The beautiful geometric lines that prims afford seem to me to blend magnificently with the simple graphic shapes that echo this amazing style of art called Coastal First Nation.

If you have not stood at the base of an ancient "totem" pole that is covered with lichen and moss with mighty cedars towering around you, and the sound of the forest playing its symphony .... I heartily recommend it.

Hairy and Prize

Believe me, trying to make prim sculptures that resemble sl avatars was not the easiest thing to do but here at Cheenco we aim to please so on I forged and created these two statues for my clients Hairy and Prize who operate several sims.

Kneeling Angel for Salia

I'm always amazed and delighted by the requests from my clients and here is one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Salia Jun is a photographer who specializes in black and white shots taken in SL. She wanted an angel in the position of one who is kneeling in the manner of one being beknighted. In my usual manner I piled on the prims to the tune of 219, 49 of which are the armour she also requested. She chose the texure exclusive option so this piece will be shared and available to all residents both in the armoured and plain version. Thanks salia and enjoy your angel.

Life Burns on

Well soon the Burning Life event will start and Cheen unfortunately will be out of town for the duration but the installation "WATER IS LIFE" is set up in the Diablo sim.

A mother dips a child to the trickle of water, a man offers a hardwon seed to the earth and nurtures the meager growth, a llama find the moisture and the sword blood mixes with death head thirst. A flower so sweet is near the need as the neverending satelite shower dispenses life.

meanwhile way up north in Diablo sim

Yes, the work continues just north of the Burning Life land etching.... fly on up.
