the voyage of Magellan
Recently I had the pleasure of joining Magellan Egoyan in a video interview which focused on some of my sculptures, a most delightful experience. Mag has done a fine job in this series of artist interviews which can be seen on youtube.

2 New Pieces
Pretty soon Cheen will be leaving SL for Europe for a couple of weeks but first these two new pieces had to debut. Morris of Oyster, in his usual fashion took the bull by the horn, hahaha, and we had an impromptu placing and opening, NEPTUNE and BULLRIDER can be seen at Oyster Bay just voted the second most popular gallery in SL. Way to go Morris.

15 seconds of fame
It came in the mail today, a real life copy of the german magazine : Art-Magazin. Thanks to Ava Milner who interviewed Cheen a few months back. Yes it's a story about art in SL and if I understood more german I would know more but alas google translation is entertaining to say the least. Cheen gets a small headshot and a shot of one of the many Glassblowers scattered around the metaverse. It appears the Art magazine is part of the Stern empire and it certainly is a hoot to be mentioned in even this minor way. My human could only hope to get that much press, hahahaha

Rez's take on my 2L Glassblower
As you can see Rez has been busy, first with a beauty of a wax model, then a wire construct which he has covered with concrete and and is busily polishing. He has plans for the tip of the blowpipe and I look forward to that. I think it's just grand this transference through the real and virtual environment. I encourage folks to recreate any of my works in 1L but if there are profits involved you will have to share, hahahahha.

1L to 2L to 1L
Some of you may have seen the all too familiar Glassblower, one of my earlier sculptures. This piece is based on a carving of oak from my 1L in which I tried for fluidity and grace. In 2L I carried on the form to a full figure with added swirling lava and steam streaming from the molten mass at the end of the rod. Well it seems one of my fellow sculptors has been inspired to further the motif in his own inimitable way. Rezago Kokorin is well on the way to fashioning a meter tall ferrous concrete sculpture depicting my virtual reality assemblage. What a hoot....
